Spring Cleaning your Life

Spring is….
A time of renewal and revival…..a time for planting and pruning.
A time for cleaning out the cupboards and clutter and dusting out the cobwebs.
Every year, we look forward to the springtime, when the weather is warmer, the days are longer and everything is brighter. Colorful blooms replace the dreariness and withered twigs of winter.

Every one is happy…..

Some of you have already started with the spring cleaning, I’ll bet.
It got me thinking…we do this spring cleaning annually but how often do we spring clean our lives or maybe just our minds.
Are there any cobwebs in your mind …leftovers from those days of “Great Expectations” that did not materialize.? Get that duster out and vigourously brush them away. They serve no useful purpose in your life…they just take up space.
What about the clutter of grudges held maybe from childhood, and thoughts of people who you think don’t like you, and all those labels you place on yourself, like “I’m too fat”. Yes, these too can clutter your mind leaving no space for new and positive thoughts, and resulting in some kind of mental paralysis.
Wipe out those unforgiving thoughts, burn the anger and recycle the garbage that accumulates there without permission.

Now is the time to get rid of that clutter …toss it all out….and open yourself to new possibilities, new opportunities and new beginnings. Don’t just plant spring blossoms in your garden but plant them in your mind and in your life.
Plant some seeds and watch them grow: seeds of gratitude, love, joy, and kindness, growing into the most beautiful garden in your mind and spreading into the rest of your life.

HOW TO ELIMINATE TOLERATIONS IN YOUR LIFE

There are so many things we tolerate in our lives, day after day. Things that really irk us and raise our stress levels; things and people that steal our joy and drain our energy. We allow them to go on unabated because we are trying to avoid dealing with the crux of the matter.

So, what are you tolerating in your life right now?

An abusive spouse

Harassment on the job

Noisy neighbors

What have you done or what are you doing about it??……..nothing.  I got that right.  You don’t even want to think about it.

Well, now is your moment of truth.  Exhale, take some “me” time and get out a sheet of paper.

List your tolerations in the home, office and maybe even in your relationships.

Is there something you can do to change that situation to a more positive or healthier one?

Is there someone you need to speak to, and you have been avoiding it?

Is there something in your daily routine or schedule you can eliminate to make your day more meaningful?

What is the worse thing that can happen if you fail in your efforts?

What would be the end result if your efforts were successful?

Can you continue to ignore this toleration?  What would be the cost?

In reality (not TV), much of the cost would be on your emotional, physical and mental health.  What a price to pay!!!  So if you love yourself and if you value your health, go ahead and do what needs to be done.  It may not be as bad as it seems, and you may be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

In some cases, there may be some situations which cannot be resolved immediately.  In those situations, I invite you to re-evaluate who you are in those situations…how you respond at those times.  Do you just simply react, everytime you are in that situation?

If you cannot change the situation, change who you are in the situation.

Then watch your life change for the better.
